Obituary for Viola Doss
1920 - 2010
Viola H. Doss, 89, of Council Grove, KS passed away Saturday, July 24, 2010, at Council Grove Healthcare Center.
She was born September 23, 1920, in Russell, Kansas, the daughter of George and Pauline (Niedenthal) Deines.
Viola married Laurence Autrey in March 1941. He preceded her in death in February 1961. She married Lloyd Doss in December, 1961. He preceded her in death September 15, 2007.
Viola was an Avon manager from 1959 to 1964 in Parsons, KS. She moved to Kansas City, MO, where she gave piano lessons until her retirement. She and Lloyd moved to the Council Grove Healthcare Center in June 2007.
Others preceding Viola in death were her parents and a sister, Lavonne Ehrlich.
She is survived by her son, Jim Autrey & wife Marsha, of Council Grove, KS; grandchildren, Shawn Mueller, of Roeland Park, KS, Heather Honas & husband Gallan, of Council Grove, KS, and Bret Autrey & wife Tara, of Ludington, MI; 5 great-grandchildren, Keegan, Adree & Keeley Honas and Maggie & Walt Autrey.
Viola donated her body to The University of Health Sciences.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
