Gwendolyn Weaver, 56, of Council Grove, KS, passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Diversicare of Council Grove.
She was born October 11, 1957 in Blytheville, AR, the daughter of John and Alice (Hudson) Parks.
Gwen married Earl Weaver on March 5, 1983 in Council Grove. She was a hairdresser and a licensed home daycare provider for twenty years. She taught 5th grade Sunday School Class at the Christian Church, where she was a member for several years.
Gwen loved her daycare kids. She enjoyed reading, dancing, singing and learning. She had a passion for life, always laughing, smiling and joking. Gwen was a loving wife and the best mom ever!
She was preceded in death by her mother, Alice Parks.
Gwen is survived by her husband Earl, of the home; son Matthew Weaver, of Emporia; daughter Lynessa Weaver, of Council Grove; father John Parks and wife Neva, of Council Grove; brother Doug Parks and wife Judy, of Cheyenne, WY; sister Mari Glover, of Council Grove; nieces, nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial contributions be made to Huntington’s Disease Society of America and may be sent in care of Penwell-Gabel, Box 273, Council Grove, KS 66846.
