Richard L. Waring, 74, of Council Grove, KS passed away peacefully, with family surrounding him, on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.
He was born February 7, 1940 in Hope, KS, the son of Clyde and Faye (Branton) Waring.
Richard married Karen Warfield on February 14, 1986 in Las Vegas, NV. He retired from Boeing in 1995. He and Karen lived in the Wichita area for several years, before moving to Council Grove in 2004.
He was a member of Council Grove-Dunlap United Methodist Church and Council Grove Country Club. He was also a member of the Sons of American Legion and Council Grove Investment Club.
Richard loved fishing, boating, golfing and card games. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Vicki Doolin.
Richard is survived by his loving wife, Karen of the home; 3 children, Bill (Barb)Waring, of Wichita, Ken (Susan)Waring, of Slick, OK and Kathy Easter, of Hutchinson; step-daughters, Kelli Taylor and Karole (John Jackson) Warfield, both of Wichita. He is also survived by his sisters, Jean Titus, Peggy Hadley and Deanna Ray; his brothers, Dwayne Waring, Dwight Waring, David Waring and Bruce Waring; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and a host of friends.
At Richard's request, he will be cremated. A private family inurnment will follow at a later date.
