Dorothy Mae Slawson, 75, of Council Grove, died Monday, March 23, 2015 at Morris County Hospital.

She was born May 31, 1939, to Clarence and Lola (Grindle) Coffman in Guthrie, Oklahoma.

Dorothy married Howard Reed, Sr. in 1953. They had two children, son Howard Richard Reed, Jr. and daughter, Sharon. They later divorced.
On August 15, 1959, she married Clyde Slawson and together they had four daughters, Diana, Connie, Lucille and Judy.

Throughout her life, Mrs. Slawson worked as a waitress, cook, production worker, and home health provider. She enjoyed fishing, camping, mushroom hunting, her family, and being active in church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Clyde Slawson, grandson, Mitchell Reed, sister, Annabelle Ticsher, and four brothers, Marvin Grindle, Delbert Coffman, Floyd Coffman and Laverne Coffman.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Howard (Rick) Reed, Jr. and wife Barbara, of Guthrie, OK; daughters, Sharon Good and husband Ron, of Key West, FL, Diana Ehrlich and husband Kevin, of Council Grove, Connie Hutchinson and husband Garry, of Beloit, WI, Lucille Barr, of Council Grove and Judy Mangold and husband Alan, of Guthrie, OK; 16 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Harold Coffman, of Enid, OK and Glen Coffman, of Guthrie, OK.
