OBITUARY FOR – Lola E. True, 100

Lola Elaine True, 100, died Sunday, July 12, 2015, at the Morris County Hospital in Council Grove. She was born in Parkerville on November 13, 1914, the daughter of Clarence M. and Mary Jane (Tague) Haun.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00am, Friday, July 17th, 2015, at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, with Rev. Theodore Khin, officiating. Burial will follow at the Calvary Cemetery. A rosary service will be Thursday evening at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church at 6:30pm with a family visitation following at 7:00 until 8:30pm.

Mrs. True worked for thirty-eight years. She worked at the Morris County Hospital in food preparation. She was very active in her church and the community. She helped her husband on the farm and ran the business. She was actively involved in many organizations including Rosary Society, Altar Society, Care and Share, Thrift Store, Morris County Republicans, Census Board, a poll worker for the election board, Meals on Wheels for more than twenty years, and a past foods leader of the Big John 4-H youth club. She supported Boys Town and was named as a Honorary Citizen, the Hospitalized Veterans named her Patriot of the year. She supported the U.S. Navy Memorial, the Heritage Foundation, and other charitable organizations.

She married Miles Wallace True on Feb. 21, 1942, and he preceded her in death on June 17, 1985. She is also preceded in death by a brother Leland Haun, a sister Marjorie Larson, and her parents.

She is survived by her daughter Janet L. Paccapaniccia-Bjortvedt (husband-Steve)
of Emporia, a grandson Louis A. Paccapaniccia, III (wife-Jo), and their children Marcus and Lauren, a granddaughter Maria N. Emery (husband-Gary) and their children Logan and Macee Shae, all of Shawnee, KS, two nieces Carol Haun and family of Fresno, CA, Mary Ann Haun of Kentucky, and a great nephew Tad Larson (wife-Gayle) and their children Ty and Cheyenne of Dwight, KS.

The family requests memorials to the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church Altar Society or the Care and Share Fund; and they may be sent in care of the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home & Crematory, Flint Hills Chapel, 137 N. Union St., Council Grove, KS, 66846.
