Patricia Ann Heptig, 87, of Council Grove, Kansas, passed away Monday, July 20, 2015 at Diversicare of Council Grove.
She was born January 22, 1928 in Flush, Kansas, to Gerald and Florence (Riat) Noll. She graduated from Flush High School and worked at Santa Fe in Topeka for two years. She then married the love of her life, Bill Heptig on July 23, 1947 in Flush, KS, where they made their home and raised their six children. Patty was a homemaker and a stay at home mom. When the children were older, she drove a school bus and cleaned several homes in the Manhattan area. She followed her husband to Manhattan, Concordia and Wichita. Their last move was to Council Grove in October 2000.
Patty was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. She enjoyed cooking, playing cards, and made baby blankets for all her grandchildren. Her grandchildren all thought she made the best Coffee Cake in the world! She loved spending time and caring for her family.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill, son Kelly Heptig, grandson Rodney Willyard, brothers Robert Noll and his wife Alice, and Kenneth Noll and his wife Lorene, and brothers-in-law Bill Schlegel and Bob Pray.
She is survived by her children: Bruce and Kathy Heptig, of Topeka, Joseph and Carolyn Heptig, of Winfield, Connie Carter, of Manhattan, Timothy and Deborah Heptig, of Sioux Falls, SD and Lora Siegle, of Council Grove; 20 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 5 step-great-grandchildren.
A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, July 23, 2015, with a visitation following at 7:00 p.m., at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 24th, also at St. Rose.
Interment will be at 1:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Flush.
