Mary Joyce Gann, 82, formerly of Council Grove, KS, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2015, at Via Christy St. Francis Hospital, in Wichita.
She was born January 28, 1933 in Monticello, MS to Benton and Rosa Lee (Bullock) Oliver. She married Clyde Charles Gann on May 24, 1949 in Bentonville, AR. They made their home in Wichita, KS and shared 47 years of marriage, before Clyde passed away on June 9, 1996.
Mary upholstered furniture for Monarch Furniture Company in Wichita for several years, before opening her own upholstery business. She and Clyde relocated to Council Grove in 1977. She retired from Morris County Hospital as the Dietary Manager, after 18 years of service.
She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
Mary enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Edward Oliver, and sister Jewel Hebert.
She is survived by 7 children: Shirley Knuth (Jim Leach), of Derby, Jerry Gann, of Boerne, TX, Russell Gann, of Wichita, Donna Boggs (Dave), of OH, Les Gann (Barbara), of Gardner, Marilyn Chapman (Casey Colbern), of Wichita and Carolyn Schmidt (Brad), of Newton; 27 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Dewey Oliver, John Oliver and Earl Oliver; and sisters, Jean Hall and Joann Taylor.
