Everett Wayne “Bud” Dugan, 76, of Alta Vista, Kansas, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Morris County Hospital.
He was born December 29, 1937 in Wabaunsee County, Kansas to Walter and Gladys (Hennes) Dugan.
Bud married the love of his life, Rosalie Conwell, on August 10, 1958, in Denver, Colorado. To this union, two children were born, Garrett and Shari. Bud joined the United States Air Force in 1960.While in Denver, their entire family along with many friends, enjoyed water skiing, snowmobiling, camping and hiking. They had a tradition every Friday, with a “family dinner night”. In 1986 the family moved back to Bud’s family farm in Alta Vista, where Bud built their unique home.
Some of Bud’s hobbies include painting, building furniture from concept to completion and model railroading. He loved camping and 4-wheeling with his grandkids.
Bud Dugan’s legacy lives on through his children and grandchildren, the beautiful home he built and the hundreds of pieces of personalized unique furniture in it. His gifts are spread throughout the community and over a wide area.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Doris Alexander.
Bud is survived by his wife, Rosalie, of the home; son, Garrett Dugan and fiance’ Judy, of Kansas City, KS; daughter, Shari Evans, of Alta Vista; grandchildren, Toshia Lamb and husband Brian, of St. George, Paul Evans, of Kansas City, KS and Brandon Dugan, of Manhattan; great-grandchildren, Brooklynn Lamb and Violet Evans; and sisters, Carol LaMotte and Rita Duncan.
