Delpha Longan, 81, lifetime Morris county resident, passed away Friday Oct, 10 2014, at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka.
She was born February 10, 1933 to Carl and Edith Ziegenhirt at Riley, Kansas. Delpha married Emmitt Longan on December 22, 1951. They had two daughters Debbie and Allicia.
Her love for the Lord was reflected to all who knew her, as she lovingly served family and friends her entire life. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Council Grove. She was active in the community as well…operating her own beauty shop, followed by many years in the laundry mat in Council Grove. She loved to sew, and did so for many in the community.
Her hobbies included, above all…her family, followed by Nascar and any sport her family or extended family were involved in. She faithfully attended their events and life achievements, always cheering them on!
Delpha is survived by her daughters: Debbie Schartz of Emporia and Allicia Wessel & husband Keith of Council Grove; 7 Grandchildren, Matthew Swenson & wife Sherri of Topeka, Mitchell Swenson & wife Rene of Topeka, Danielle Garate & husband Israel of Emporia, Melany Ink & husband Jared of Council Grove, Kristin Contizano & husband Eric of GA, Kris Wessel & wife Leslie of Wichita, Mike Wessel & wife Steph of Lindsburg; 21 great-grandchildren Avary, Aidan, Cora, Brooke, Lane, Domanic, Tiago, Caden, Kendal, Braxtin, Brinley, Austin, Amy, Abby, Chris, Kaston, Dominic, McKenzie, J.J., Colby & Gabe; brother Robert Ziegenhirt & wife Jo of Alta Vista; sister Linda Clough of Alta Vista; sister-in-law Marilyn Ziegenhirt of Council Grove.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Emmitt, brothers Carl Ziegenhirt Jr. and John Ziegenhirt and sister Bonita Sisson.
