Lena F. Pitts, 81, of Council Grove, Kansas passed away Monday, December 22, 2014, at Diversicare of Council Grove.
She was born June 5, 1933 in Cimarron, KS, the daughter of Marvin and Violet (Picolet) Shope. She attended White City High School. Lena married David Pitts on December 23, 1950 in White City. Together they had seven children.
Lena enjoyed quilting, sewing, babysitting and listening to gospel music. She loved her family and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John and Hap Shope; and granddaughter, Jasmin Murray.
Lena is survived by her husband David, of Council Grove; children, Lu OHara, of CG, Donna Murray, of AZ, Marie Quinn, of MO, Judy Anders, of TX, Davey Pitts, of OK, Wayne Pitts, of AZ and Leland Pitts, of Council Grove; 18 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brother, Frank Shope (Joan), of White City; sister, Louise Miller (Jim), of Junction City; and sister-in-law, Mary Pitts, of Council Grove.
