John David Bolinder, 84, of White City, Kansas, passed away Monday, January 19, 2015, at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka.
He was born November 7, 1930 in Alta Vista, KS to Lester and Alice (Rollf) Bolinder. He graduated from Alta Vista High School in 1948. He married Ilene Weeks on May 26, 1955. They made their home on the family farm, where John was born and raised. Together they raised three children, Shawn, Alex and Myra.
John was a farmer and carpenter. In his later years he transported mail from Council Grove to Alta Vista, Dwight and White City post offices. He enjoyed farming, working with wood and reading. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
John was a member of Pleasant Ridge Christian Church, a 50 year member of Eastern Star and Masonic Lodge of Alta Vista #357.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Delores Pape and grandson Joshua Eidson.
John is survived by his wife Ilene; children, Alex Bolinder, Shawn Bolinder and Myra Eidson; 4 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; sisters Nila Leonard, and Wanda Starr; and brother Vernon Bolinder.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest, memorial contributions be made to the John Bolinder Memorial Fund. They may be sent in care of Penwell-Gabel, PO Box 273, Council Grove, KS 66846.
