Marian L. (Switzer) Maas, 76, of Dwight, Kansas, passed away Friday, January 23, 2015, at Good Shepard Hospice House in Manhattan.
She was born December 20, 1938 to Jack and Dora (Syring) Switzer. She was raised around the Dwight area. On May 5, 1960, she married Otto Maas in Topeka. They had four children: Eric, Kirk, Michelle and Greg. She was an Air Force wife for 16 years, before moving back to Dwight. She coached softball and was involved in school activities for many years.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents; husband Otto; brothers, Glen Switzer, Guy Switzer, Ted (Butch) Switzer; sister, Phyllis Swenson, and two grandchildren.
She is survived by her children and their families: Eric Maas and wife Jeanette, of Manhattan, Kirk Maas and wife Lisa, of Dwight, Michelle Billings and husband Tony, of Ogden and Greg Maas, of Dwight; nine grandchildren: Erica, Dusty, Alyssa, Tawnie, Matthew, Melanie, Alex, Cheyenne and Kaitlin; seven great-grandchildren; and sister, Shirley Nelson, of Marysville.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions be made to The Good Shepard Hospice House, 8601 Vesta Drive, Manhattan, KS 66502.
