Mary Louise (Burton) Herron passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at Morris County Hospital.
She was born June 29, 1930 in Big Stone Gap, VA, to Albert and Lizzie Burton.
On December 21, 1945, she married Earl Patton Herron in Wise, VA, after his return from his service in World War II. From that union, they had three daughters, Deloris Charlene Herron, Linda Earlene Washburn and Donna Fay Jeaudoin. They moved to Dunlap, KS in 1959, so her husband could work on the Council Grove Reservoir.
Mary enjoyed gardening, cooking for and feeding people, crossword puzzles and her family. After being widowed at a younger age, she served as the matriarch for the family for many years. She was an avid watcher of CMT and loved country music. She also enjoyed a trip to the casino occasionally.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Lizzie; her husband Earl Patton and her daughter Deloris Charlene.
Mary is survived by her nephew, that she took in as her son, David Ray and wife Zetta, of Big Stone Gap, VA; daughters, Linda Washburn and Donna Jeaudoin, both of Dunlap; grandchildren: Deanna Yowell and husband Rodney, of Dunlap: Jimmie Thomas and wife Jennie, of Pierce City, MO: Rocky Washburn and wife Wendi, of Council Grove: Liz Rohloff and husband Dan, of Wilsey: and Amanda Jeaudoin and fiancé Cory, of Americus; 15 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions be made to the Dunlap Historical Site (Dunlap Methodist Church).
